Piñon Hills, United States - August 02, 2025 A wildfire erupted on August 2 in the 400 block of Fremontia Road, prompting a major response from multiple fire agencies. Named the Fremont Fire, the blaze scorched approximately 26 acres and is currently 5% contained. Firefighters launched an aggressive assault from the ground and air, managing to stop the fire’s forward progress. Shifting winds created dangerous conditions and made suppression efforts difficult throughout the afternoon. One firefighter was injured and transported by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital for evaluation. A detached garage was damaged, but there is no longer a threat to additional structures. The fire is under Unified Command between San Bernardino County Fire and the CAL FIRE San Bernardino Unit. Support also came from CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire, Rialto Fire Department, San Manuel Fire Department, Victorville City Fire Department, and Angeles National Forest. Over 200 personnel have been assigned to the incident. Fire crews are expected to remain on scene overnight and in the coming days to extinguish hot spots and strengthen containment lines. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
