Los Angeles, United States - August 06, 2025 08/06/2025 01:17 am GMT-0700 WEST COVINA, Calif. – Pomona police were involved in a pursuit of a gray Jeep Gladiator traveling northbound on the 71 Freeway before heading westbound on the 10 Freeway. The reason for the pursuit is currently unknown. Authorities either lost track of the vehicle or canceled the chase at the interchange of the 71 Freeway and the 10 Freeway. Officers from the California Highway Patrol, based in Baldwin Park, later located the vehicle in a parking lot at an apartment complex near the 100 block of South Barranca Street in West Covina. Upon inspecting the Jeep, an officer discovered a small puppy in the backseat, which was taken into custody by the CHP. The suspect fled the scene on foot into the apartment complex and remains at large. West Covina Animal Control has been dispatched to take custody of the dog.
