Woman Rescued From Water Under Florida Bridge After 911 Call

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — A woman clinging to a concrete pylon beneath the Crosstown Bridge was rescued Thursday morning thanks to quick action from a passerby and the coordinated response of local first responders.

According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department, a pedestrian heard the woman screaming for help and immediately called 911. The St. Lucie County Fire Department threw a flotation device to her, helping her remain afloat until the PSLPD Marine Unit reached her by boat.

She was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries and is expected to recover fully. Authorities praised the bystander's swift action and thanked the community for supporting first responders.
