On August 8, 2025, in Canakkale, Turkey, @yesilltacc shared a video of a fire at Canakkale State Hospital as a large forest fire swept through the province. The blaze began on agricultural land near Sarıcaeli village and quickly spread to surrounding forests, fueled by strong winds, heat, and dry air. Several villages, Canakkale University, a nursing home, and the state hospital were placed at risk, prompting the evacuation of more than 780 residents. Thick smoke and firefighting aircraft operations led to a temporary closure of the Dardanelles Strait and suspension of flights at Canakkale Airport. While the fire in the central province was later brought under control, smaller fires persisted in the Bayramic region.
