The attack targeted the home of the Delul family in eastern Gaza City, wounding a pregnant woman, her husband, and their children. While the family survived, the baby did not. Footage showed the grieving grandfather bidding farewell to his grandchild at the morgue of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital. Israel has been facing mounting outrage over its deadly war on Gaza, where more than 61,300 people have been killed since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave and brought it to the verge of famine. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
