A motorcycle rider discovered a 4ft python coiled inside his engine in the Philippines.

The motorist said he was about to leave when he noticed he could neither move the steering wheel nor operate the brake in Rosario, Cavite, on August 7.

Suspecting a mechanical fault, he decided to have his two-wheeled vehicle inspected by a technician around 7:30 am.

Surprisingly, the mechanic discovered a snake resting comfortably inside the motorbike.

Local peacekeeper Richard Arrayata was then called to assist in removing the serpent.

Footage shows the emergency responder carefully extracting the python before gently draping it around his neck.

The reptile was subsequently handed over to the authorities for proper care and relocation. No one was hurt in the incident.

Pythons are nonvenomous constrictors that prey on rodents, birds, lizards, and mammals. They lack venomous fangs and consume their prey whole by swallowing them.
