US: Walnut Creek Officers Capture Rattlesnake Found Inside Kitchen Cabinet

Walnut Creek, United States - August 02, 2025 On August 2nd, Walnut Creek police officers were called to a home after a rattlesnake was discovered inside a kitchen cabinet. The homeowner alerted 911, saying, “We have a rattlesnake in our kitchen.” Officers arrived just before 11 p.m. Bodycam footage shows Officer Brandon Lengkeek carefully trapping the snake using a nonstick soup pot. The police department praised his efforts on social media: “Got ’em! … Lengeek channeled his inner Irwin, braved this mighty beast, and safely released it back into the wild. Sssmooth work, officer Lengkeek.” The rattlesnake was captured without injury and returned safely to its natural habitat.
