Mexico City, Mexico - August 10, 2025 A video recorded by X user JJCazares shows severe flooding inside Benito Juarez International Airport, with cleaning crews struggling to clear the water. In the footage, the floor of the terminal is covered with a large amount of water. Several cleaning staff members are seen working to manage the situation, using mops and squeegees to push the water toward drains or collection areas. One person wearing a yellow shirt is using a bucket to scoop water, while others continue to push it away from passenger areas. Passengers and other individuals can be seen in the background, some standing and observing as the cleanup continues. JJCazares commented: "No comments! Images of our Benito Juarez International Airport in Mexico City. Out of respect for the Benemerito, they should change its name and rename it Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador International Airport, 'The Pejelagarto'." The Pejelagarto, meaning garfish, is a nickname for Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, referencing a fish native to his home state of Tabasco.
