On August 7, in a residential community in Guiyang, Guizhou Province, two young children climbed over to the outside of a 13th-floor balcony.

One child was even left dangling with both feet in the air, gripping the glass and doing pull-up–like movements. The person filming was so shocked they repeatedly cried out and immediately contacted property management.

Property staff responded quickly, got in touch with the children’s parents, and rescued the kids safely within about two minutes.

According to the local subdistrict office, the children’s father had gone out on an errand, leaving no adults at home, which allowed the children to climb outside.

Parents have since been advised not to leave children unattended and to modify the balcony to prevent similar incidents in the future.
