Footage shows a Chinese rocket streaking across the sky as it re-entered the atmosphere.

The Jielong-3 rocket was launched from a floating launchpad in the Yellow Sea in northeastern China on Friday (08/11).

It is understood the rocket was launched into space as part of a navigations and communications mission.

The 31-metre rocket was then seen days later re-entering the atmosphere above southeastern Spain in the early hours of Monday (11/08).

Henryk Stojak, 67, captured the moment the rocket flew over his villa near Malaga.

He said: "First of all we thought it was a meteor shower, but it was trailing yellow and different colours. "

"The kids were playing in the pool, and it was disintegrating overhead."

"It was not until we looked online that we noticed it was a rocket."

"It exploded and then came in over the top of us."
