The meeting marks the latest step in ongoing diplomatic efforts between the two neighboring countries amid discussions on security, humanitarian, and political issues affecting the region. The Syrian delegation’s visit follows Foreign Minister Fidan’s trip to Damascus on August 7, where he met with Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa for what Syrian state media described as "high-level talks." According to Syria’s official news agency, SANA, the discussions in Damascus covered regional and international developments, as well as potential avenues for enhanced bilateral cooperation.
