AERIAL FIREFIGHTING UNITS DROPPING WATER ON BURNED FOREST (TWO SHOTS) CANAKKALE, TÜRKİYE - AUG. 13, 2025: A wildfire broke out Wednesday, Aug. 13, in a forested area near a village in the central district of Türkiye’s northwestern province of Canakkale, prompting both aerial and ground response teams to intervene.
Fueled by strong winds, the blaze of unknown origin swiftly advanced toward the villages.
Teams from the Canakkale Regional Directorate of Forestry, along with aerial firefighting units, were dispatched to the area following the alert.
9 planes and 7 helicopters were deployed from the air, along with 40 fire trucks, 5 bulldozers and 5 municipal fire engines on the ground, according to officials. They added that there is currently no threat to residential areas.
