This is the dramatic moment the Thai Navy saved eight fishermen from a sinking boat during rough seas.

Authorities received an emergency call from the vessel stranded in choppy waters off tourist island Phuket on Tuesday.

Vice Admiral Suwat Donsakul, commander of the Royal Thai Navy's Region 3 Command, said a Sikorsky S-76 helicopter was deployed to conduct an aerial search.

After locating the Wor Chokmana 1 fishing vessel, the Navy's HTMS Hua Hin warship plucked the crew who were thrown overboard near Koh Racha Yai island. They were reportedly left adrift for almost four hours.

The fishermen were given first aid and arrived unharmed at the Navy's Region 3 base.

The Navy said in a statement: 'The Maritime Security Center Region 3 is committed and dedicated to protecting the lives, property, and national interests in the Andaman Sea, ensuring the safety of our brothers and sisters and children, and ensuring the stability of marine resources.'
