This is the dramatic moment a boat crew rescues a couple who were struggling to stay afloat in a river.

A trailing vessel received a radio call from the lead boat, reporting that two individuals had fallen into the water and were signalling for help.

Footage shows emergency responders navigating the Chao Phraya River near Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, on August 10.

The pair were then spotted treading water in the middle of the river, which runs through the capital, Bangkok. Responders quickly moved into position, lowering a rope for the couple to hold on to before carefully pulling them aboard.

Reports said the woman was visibly shivering and severely fatigued after being in the water for more than ten minutes, requiring additional time and effort to bring her up safely.

It was later determined that the man had been operating a small boat en route to Nonthaburi when strong waves caused the vessel to flood and eventually capsize.

Both individuals were successfully rescued and brought out of the water without further incident.
