SUMY, UKRAINE (AUGUST 15, 2025) (USERS MUST CREDIT “STATE EMERGENCY SERVICE OF UKRAINE” HANDOUT, MUST NOT OBSCURE LOGO —EDITORIAL USE ONLY) Russian forces carried out a drone strike on a gas station near Sumy early Friday, injuring civilian, local authorities reported.

The attack occurred at approximately 5:40 a.m. on August 15 when an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) hit a civilian vehicle at the station, igniting a fire that damaged the building and the car, according to Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

The male driver suffered burns and was provided with immediate medical assistance, while gas station employees escaped unharmed.

The latest strike follows intensified Russian aggression in the area. On August 14, a missile attack on Seredyna-Buda district wounded a 7-year-old girl and a 27-year-old man.

Additionally, Russian forces have recently targeted the Myropilia and Sumy communities with FPV drones and guided aerial bombs, injuring another civilian and damaging homes and power infrastructure.

Hryhorov urged residents to avoid traveling to border settlements, which face constant shelling. "The enemy cynically continues to attack civilians, their homes, and transport," he stated on Telegram.
