VARIOUS OF RELATIVES OF DECEASED MOURNING GAZA, PALESTINE - AUG. 15, 2025: Six Palestinians, including two children, were killed on Friday, Aug. 15, in an attack by the Israeli army on the Musa bin Nusayr School in the El-Derac neighborhood in eastern Gaza, where displaced Palestinians were staying.
The Israeli army killed at least 42 Palestinians in the latest airstrikes on the Gaza Strip on Friday, sources told Anadolu.
Medical sources and eyewitnesses said Israeli forces bombed gatherings of Palestinian civilians in the north and central areas of the enclave.
Five Palestinians were killed, including three in a drone strike southwest of Khan Younis and two while waiting for aid north of Rafah in southern Gaza.
In eastern Gaza City, one Palestinian was killed when a drone targeted civilians in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood.
Two others were killed in a strike on the Zeitoun neighborhood, while three more were killed and 13 injured in an airstrike targeting civilians near the Al-Ittisalat junction in the Al-Rimal neighborhood, Gaza City.
In central Gaza, three Palestinians were shot dead by Israeli forces while waiting for aid near the Netzarim corridor.
The Israeli army killed three Palestinians in an airstrike near the Kissufim crossing, while a fourth was killed in a strike on the Al-Matahin junction, Deir al-Balah.
Seven Palestinians, including two children, were killed and others, mostly women and children, were injured in an Israeli strike targeting the Mousa bin Nusair school, which shelters displaced people in the al-Daraj neighborhood in eastern Gaza City.
Two more Palestinians, one of them a child, were killed in two Israeli airstrikes; the first hit a gathering of civilians in the al-Tuffah neighborhood, and the second struck an inhabited house in the Zeitoun neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
In the central Gaza Strip, two Palestinians were killed and others were injured in an Israeli strike on a tent sheltering displaced people on the roof of the outpatient clinic building at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah.
The Gaza Media Office said in a statement that “this criminal targeting of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital is the thirteenth since the start of the genocide war … which clearly reflects a persistent determination to target the health infrastructure and violate international laws that prohibit harming medical facilities and civilians.”
It “strongly condemned this barbaric and ongoing aggression against hospitals, which constitutes a blatant violation of all international and humanitarian conventions.”
In addition, six Palestinians waiting for aid trucks were shot dead by Israeli forces in the vicinity of the Zikim area in the northern Gaza Strip.
Another seven Palestinians lost their lives in an Israeli strike on a tent inside Majida al-Wasila School in central Gaza City.
Israel has killed nearly 61,900 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave and brought it to the verge of famine.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
