The demonstrations were organized by the civil society group “Support for Ummah Issues.” Protesters carried banners reading “No to killing, starvation, and targeting journalists” and “Palestine is a trust, normalization is betrayal.”
Participants also displayed photos of Al Jazeera journalist Enes Esh-Shareef, who was killed by Israeli forces, while chanting slogans such as “Greetings to you, Palestine” and “Where are you while Gaza is being destroyed?”
Moroccans condemned Israel’s targeting of civilians in Gaza and called for immediate delivery of humanitarian aid.
Israel has killed nearly 61,900 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave and brought it to the verge of famine.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
