5. VARIOUS OF ISRAELI FORCES IMPOSING SECURITY MEASURES HEBRON, WEST BANK, PALESTINE - AUG. 16: Illegal Israeli settlers carried out a tour in the Palestinian city of Hebron on Saturday, Aug. 16, under the protection of Israeli forces.

During the march through the Old City, Israeli security forces imposed tight measures, including the closure of several checkpoints, restricting the movement of local Palestinians.

Under the 1997 Hebron Protocol, Israel maintains full control over Hebron’s Old City, including the Ibrahimi Mosque.

Since the start of Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, at least 1,013 Palestinians have been killed and more than 7,000 injured in the West Bank by Israeli forces and illegal settlers, according to the Health Ministry.

In an advisory opinion last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
