India: Immersive Krishna Janmashtami Experience at Bodh Gaya Jagannath Temple

Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with great pomp at the Jagannath temple in Bodh Gaya on Saturday mid night. The tableaus and cultural programs based on the birth of Lord Krishna captivated everyone.
The devotees celebrated Lord Krishna's birthday by keeping a fast. The whole atmosphere became devotional with the sound of bells and the echo of Hathi Ghoda Palki, Jai Kanhaiya Lal.

The devotees who were fasting since morning were busy in decorating themselves. On the birth of Kanha at midnight, prayers were offered in Jagannath temple and homes. As soon as the clock struck 12 at night, Kanha was born.

The sound of conches and bells all around filled the atmosphere with joy. After the birth of lord Krishna (Kanha), his idol was bathed with honey, ghee, curd, milk, Gangajal etc.

Small children presented beautiful programs dressed as Krishna and Radha. Krishna bhajan evening and cultural programs were also organized on this occasion.
