US, Phoenix: Avondale I-10 Fatal Collision
Phoenix, United States - August 17, 2025 08/17/2025 01:27 am GMT-0700 AVONDALE, Ariz. – Just before 1:30 a.m., the Department of Public Safety, along with Avondale police and firefighters, responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash on the off-ramp of Interstate 10 Eastbound at 99th Avenue. Upon arrival, first responders discovered a patient trapped inside a pickup truck, which had struck a guardrail. Command quickly adjusted the response for an extrication, and rescue personnel utilized specialized tools, including the Jaws of Life, in their efforts to free the trapped individual. Throughout the rescue operation, the patient was monitored, but at one point, the efforts were halted, and the scene transitioned to a body recovery. The circumstances leading up to the fatal incident remain unclear. The Department of Public Safety closed the off-ramp and adjacent lanes while the recovery took place.
