A stage truss buckled at a beer festival in China, killing at least two people and injuring three others.

The incident occurred during a crowded event in Mianzhu city, Sichuan province, on Friday night, August 15, when the temporary structure suddenly gave way amid fierce winds.

Footage captured the chaotic scene, showing festivalgoers scrambling to safety, with some taking shelter under umbrellas as rain poured down.

Despite full-scale rescue efforts, officials confirmed that two festivalgoers died.

The Mianzhu Emergency Management Bureau said in a statement: 'At approximately 9:50 pm on August 15, a truss collapsed due to severe convective weather at the 14th Beer Festival in Mianzhu, resulting in injuries.

'Following the incident, the Mianzhu City Government immediately mobilised relevant departments to carry out emergency rescue, medical treatment, and post-disaster relief efforts.

'Despite intensive rescue efforts, two people were killed and three others were seriously injured, not currently in life-threatening condition. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.'
