China: Mechanized equipment helps harvest forage grass in NW China
[Voiceover] In northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, mechanized farming equipment is helping harvest forage grass this season. On one 4,000-hectare natural grassland in Yining County, farmers have been driving grass-harvesting tractors and balers through the vast green fields recently. This year, 100 percent of the local grass-cutting has been mechanized, with machines working eight times faster than manual labor. Starting in late July until mid-August, dry matter accumulation reaches its peak, making it the best time to store winter fodder. [Restrictions: No access Chinese mainland]
