Toddler celebrates birthday in hospital by sharing treats with fellow patients
This is the touching moment a toddler celebrated her birthday in a hospital by sharing treats with fellow patients.
Mother Cherelyn Diaz Respecia organised her daughter, Chelsie Janeyah Ugay's second birthday at the National Children's Hospital in Manila, the Philippines, despite her serious illness.
Chelsie, who is battling severe pneumonia, spent her special day bringing joy to others, as the family distributed food to 23 young patients and the on-duty medical staff on August 11.
Footage shows boxed meals and drinks on a table at Jollibee being collected by Cherelyn and her relatives.
In another clip, the food is distributed around the ward, while a mocha-flavoured cake is placed beside little Chelsie, who lies in bed with an oxygen tube and IV fluids.
Her parents then sang the Happy Birthday song as she waved her hands while lying on her side. Midway through, her father leaned in to kiss her cheek.
Cherelyn said: 'Since we've been in the hospital for 14 days because of my child's critical condition, we decided to give food to the patients instead. Even in difficult times, we wanted to share a little happiness with others.'
