DOOLITTLE, Mo. – Firefighters with the Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District responded Tuesday morning to a tractor trailer fire on Interstate 44 near the 174 eastbound exit. The trailer was loaded with 40,000 pounds of ribeye steaks, all of which were declared a total loss.

Among the responders was probationary firefighter Jenna Ulrich, who fought her first fire alongside her father, firefighter Glenn Ulrich. Jenna was on the hose line during the response.

The department shared initial video footage showing Engine 6610 arriving on scene as heavy smoke poured from the trailer. Crews worked to bring the fire under control and prevent further hazards.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
