EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. — Newly released cockpit footage captures the U.S. Air Force’s T-7A Red Hawk maneuvering in and around Edwards Air Force Base and the R-2508 airspace complex.

The video provides a rare pilot’s-eye view of the advanced trainer aircraft in action, showcasing its agility and performance in one of the military’s most heavily used test ranges. The T-7A Red Hawk, designed to prepare the next generation of fighter and bomber pilots, features modern avionics, advanced flight controls and improved safety systems compared to its predecessors.

The R-2508 airspace complex, which spans thousands of square miles over Southern California, offers the Air Force a critical environment for testing aircraft under varied conditions. The Red Hawk’s development continues as the service prepares for its eventual introduction into pilot training programs.

The aircraft was named in honor of the Tuskegee Airmen, who painted the tails of their fighters red during World War II.
