Los Angeles, United States - August 19, 2025 08/19/2025 01:46 am GMT-0700 SAN PEDRO, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Los Angeles police and fire officials responded to reports of a vehicle crash on Pacific Avenue Monday evening. Upon arrival in the 700 block, they found a white Buick Enclave atop a transformer, engulfed in flames. Preliminary investigations suggest the vehicle struck a power pole, snapping it in half before igniting. Power lines were down in the area, resulting in an outage that left streetlights nonfunctional. As a safety precaution, law enforcement closed Pacific Avenue between Bonita Street and Front Street. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, and it remains unclear if there were any injuries. The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power was requested to the scene to disable the live wires while crews addressed the situation.
