This is the shocking moment an out-of-control car crashed into a swimming pool.

The black hatchback was seen slowly manoeuvring across the parking area, but the driver appeared to press the accelerator by mistake.

Dramatic CCTV footage shows the vehicle making a sharp turn before smashing through the bushes and a small wall.

It then plunged down the grass bank and into the pool at the Humen Fumin Swimming Centre in Guangdong, China, on August 15.

Onlookers jumped into the pool to rescue the driver and passengers before the vehicle sank to the bottom.

Local media reported that the people inside the car escaped unharmed.

A Humen Fumin Swimming Centre spokesman said: 'We opened the pool the next day and changed the water.

'Our coaches and lifeguards were on the scene and swiftly rescued the people inside the vehicle.'
