Angelique shared a TikTok clip showing Spectre, her son’s usually clumsy cat, in full hunter mode. The fly had been buzzing relentlessly, and Spectre spent several acrobatic seconds leaping and swiping at thin air before hauling himself up onto his scratching post in pursuit.

When Spectre finally stretched both paws skyward, Angelique couldn’t believe her eyes. “I kept asking him if he caught it,” she laughs in the video, now viewed 273.6k times, “because I really didn’t think it was likely—and then, there it was in his paws!”

Spectre is my son's cat. My son was out of town so I was cat-sitting. A fly had been buzzing around and Spectre had been trying to catch it. After much persuit and a lot of leaping around, he jumped onto the top of his scratching post. He was determined! After a few seconds he reached up with his paws and nabbed the fly! Hes usually quite clumsy so I was surprised by his coordination. I kept asking him if he caught it because I really didn't think it was likely, and I was excited that clearly he had, in fact, caught the bug.
