Members of the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) were arrested while protesting outside the Chinese Embassy in Delhi.

The incident unfolded during the visit of Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Monday, August 18.

The protesters demonstrated against China's treatment of Tibet, calling for an end to what they describe as a harsh crackdown on the Tibetan people.

They urged the Indian government to raise human rights concerns during bilateral talks with China.

Footage shows emergency responders detaining activists, some of whom were holding Tibetan flags during the rally.

Gonpo Dhondup, the President of TYC, said: 'The situation in Tibet has become dire due to the harsh policies of the government aimed at destroying Tibet's ethnic identity. We want to highlight this issue during Foreign Minister Wang's visit to India.'

Wang Yi's visit includes talks on border issues and bilateral relations, meetings with senior Indian officials, and preparations for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit.
