US: Dangerous Venomous Snakes Locked In Deadly Dominance Battle Near Reyes Peak
United States - August 18, 2025 Reyes Peak, California – A video shows male rattlesnakes engaged in a dominance battle as they compete to attract a nearby female ahead of the mating season. The confrontation took place on a dirt road in a hilly area with bushes and a forested hillside under a clear blue sky. Los Padres National Forest issued a safety alert, advising visitors to give rattlesnakes plenty of space while hiking or driving near Reyes Peak. The video was provided by Sam McAtee, Ojai Ranger District.
