A magnitude 5.4 earthquake in Myanmar sparked panic as it hit a government building in neighbouring Thailand.

Footage shows terrified employees evacuating the Ministry of Labour in the Din Daeng district of Bangkok this morning.

Thailand's Earthquake Observation Division said the tremor struck some 211 kilometres southwest of Tak province, northern Thailand, at 9:58 am local time. It was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometres.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries, though residents and office workers said the shaking was felt in parts of Bangkok.
