This is the shocking moment a pickup truck went airborne over a street, flying past a moving car after hitting a road bump at speed and damaging at least 10 parked vehicles in its path.

CCTV footage captured the black vehicle hurtling across the road in Sao Paulo, Brazil, after the driver failed to see the speed bump ahead at midday on August 14.

As it struck the elevated section, the truck was launched around 3ft into the air before skidding along the street on its front bumper.

A silver sedan travelling ahead remarkably avoided being hit, as the truck flew past and scraped against several parked vehicles.

Moments later, the truck disappeared off-screen, followed by a deafening crunch as it reportedly slammed into a gate.

Parts of several vehicles were scattered across the road, and even overhead power lines were struck. The pickup reportedly travelled around 330ft (100m) before coming to a stop.

The driver, Leonardo Couto Luiz, 51, was trapped in the wreckage and rescued by paramedics before being taken to the hospital.

His condition has not been disclosed, but he was the only person injured in the incident.

Authorities have launched an investigation.
