A devoted pet owner walked across a tin roof to save her pet hamster that had fallen from the balcony.

Iray was feeding the three-month-old Syrian named Stormi when it slipped through the rails and landed on the metal sheets below in Lanao del Norte, the Philippines.

Footage shows her carefully balancing on the fragile panels while reaching for Stormi, which was curiously sniffing around.

She was supported by her niece, Missy Verano, who steadied her by holding her shirt as she retrieved the rodent.

Missy said: ‘We were giving food to the hamsters when Stormi suddenly jumped into the bowl and dashed away. It ended up on the roof since he ran in that direction while escaping.'

Iray handed Stormi to Missy, who placed it back on the floor beside two cups of food. The hamster was unharmed from the plunge.

After the short rooftop adventure, Stormi eagerly returned to eating its meal on August 15.
