Firefighter rescues stray dog trapped in the creek
This is the heartwarming moment a firefighter rescued a stray dog trapped in a creek.
LV Locsin heard the cries of the stranded canine during heavy rainfall and quickly called the Bureau of Fire Protection for help in Iloilo, the Philippines.
Responders rushed to the scene that evening but were unable to find the animal, prompting them to resume the operation the following day.
Firefighters Rhenmarc Rendaje and Kim Levi Aldep returned early the next morning.
Footage shows one of them, dressed in full fire gear, wading through ankle-deep water as he searched for the dog on August 14.
Moments later, they spotted the black canine standing motionless, visibly nervous in front of the unfamiliar faces.
The officer then calmed the frightened animal, eventually gaining its trust before wrapping it in his jacket and carefully climbing up a ladder to safety.
Another clip shows the rescuer carrying the dog in his arms, gently petting it.
The dog was unharmed and is now being cared for by the fire department.
