Giant hornet nest destroyed at temple after monks and villagers attacked
Local authorities destroyed a paper wasp nest after the insects attacked monks and villagers.
Chaiwat Sukhadecha, Phimai Subdistrict Municipality council member, led disaster prevention and mitigation officers to destroy a paper wasp nest at Wat Kao Prathuchai in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, on August 17.
They connected a gas tank to a steel pipe and burned the nest, which was located in front of the ordination hall.
The operation was conducted after paper wasps attacked monks and locals performing Buddhist activities inside the hall, causing them to avoid using it.
The wasps built the nest inside the temple as a shelter from the rain during the rainy season.
