A massive protest broke out in Yemen's capital, Sanaa on Friday as crowds of people took to the streets to condemn Israel's Gaza occupation plan. Amid expanding Israeli military operations and decisions to further occupy the Gaza Strip, Yemenis held yet another weekly protest march in southern Sanaa, condemning the violence and expressing solidarity with Palestinians. On Friday, demonstrators waved Palestinian flags and carried signs denouncing Israel's airstrikes on civilians and the blockade that has pushed Gaza into a deepening humanitarian crisis. Many protesters blamed the United States for conniving Israeli actions. "Without U.S. permission and backing, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wouldn't be able to take a single step. That makes the U.S. a full partner in Israel's every move. Israel's policies aim for domination at every level, through killing, genocide, and political, cultural, and economic aggression against Palestine," said Daif Allah al-Shami, a protester. Protesters called on the international community to exert pressure on the United States to halt its support for Israel and push for an end to the violence.
