BERLIN, GERMANY - AUGUST 23, 2025: Hundreds of demonstrators in Germany's capital, Berlin, held a protest on Saturday, Aug. 23, to show solidarity with Palestine.

Protesters gathered at Checkpoint Charlie to denounce Israel's attacks on Gaza and the German government's arms support for Israel.

Carrying banners, placards, and Palestinian flags, the protesters chanted slogans in support of Palestine.

Police detained several demonstrators during the protest.

Israel has killed more than 62,600 Palestinians in its ongoing genocide in Gaza since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave, led to famine, forced migration and spread of disease.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
