PARKER, Colo. — A four-foot bull snake caused a stir at a local pool before being safely removed by Parker police this week.

Police said Community Services Officer Gingold responded after the non-venomous snake was spotted slithering near the clubhouse. The snake was corralled and relocated without incident, giving poolgoers peace of mind.

Officials said Parker has seen an increase in snake-related calls this year, including rattlesnakes. Residents are urged to keep a safe distance, keep children and pets away, and call police for assistance if a snake is spotted.

Bull snakes are harmless to people and play a role in controlling rodent populations, but police acknowledged they are not always welcome summer visitors.
