19. VISITORS AT FAIR SITE ALASKA, US - AUG. 23: The Alaska State Fair, one of the state’s most enduring traditions since 1936, drew thousands of visitors on Saturday, Aug. 23, as it marked its 89th edition with showcases of agriculture, livestock, handicrafts, and cultural life.
This year’s program features amusement rides, antique tractor shows, horse riding competitions, pet and livestock displays, dog shows, and food contests, including the “Berry Good Pie” competition and the giant pumpkin weigh-in.
Concerts by Warren Zeiders, Mastodon, Billy Currington, and Wiz Khalifa highlighted the second week of festivities, alongside workshops and contests for families and children.
Organizers expect hundreds of thousands to attend the event, which runs from August 15 to September 1, boosting the local economy and reinforcing its place as a cultural gathering for both Alaskans and foreign visitors.
