Debris flies past man as boiler explodes in glass plant
A resident playing games on his phone narrowly escaped serious injuries when debris blasted past him.
The lad was sitting at a desk near the front door of his home when an explosion erupted at a nearby glass plant in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam on August 15.
Footage shows the youngster focused on the device when shattered pieces came flying his way.
He quickly stood up and dodged as the room filled with a cloud of brown dust before rushing to safety.
Despite shards of sharp metal and glass, he was unhurt.
Residents said they heard a deafening boom from inside the stained-glass pressing factory when it happened.
Authorities later confirmed the blast originated from the facility's boiler and investigation is underway to determine the cause and assess damages.
