Pakistan: Shakargarh Flooded: 24 Hours of Non-Stop Rain Turns City Into a Lake
Shakar Garh, Pakistan - August 26, 2025 Continuous heavy rainfall has been lashing Shakargarh for the past 24 hours, turning the city into a waterlogged zone. Main roads, markets, streets, and low-lying areas are submerged, while water has entered shops and houses, forcing businesses to shut down. Areas like Antowali Bypass, Ghousia Chowk, Muslim Town, Graveyard Road, and THQ surroundings are heavily affected. Several feet of water is standing on the main Narowal–Shakargarh highway, while the administration has failed to drain it out. Meanwhile, some locals, especially children, were seen enjoying the rainwater and bathing in the flooded streets despite the risks.
