Storyline: China's summer movie season heats up [Voice_over] China's summer movie season is in full swing with domestic crime thrillers and historical dramas, as well as Hollywood imports, captivating audiences. Crowds are coming out for films like The Lychee Road, an historical dramedy about calling out pampered elites, or "Dead To Rights", a film based on actual photographic evidence of Japanese war crimes during the Nanjing Massacre of 1937. [Sound_bite] Moviegoer: "I have watched 'The Stage', 'The Lychee Road' and 'Dead to Rights', and none of them has let me down." [Sound_bite] Zhang Ke, screenwriter, Nanjing Massacre film "Dead To Rights": "Entertainment is the minimum expectation for a film, so in the creation of 'Dead To Rights', we ensure a tightly woven plot where storylines connect with one another without a pause. We've also integrated a lot of Chinese-style expressions into the film." [Voice_over] Leading the charts is "Dead To Rights", followed by "The Lychee Road" with Universal's "Jurassic World Rebirth" in third. Nearly 150 films are set to be released during the summer film season, which runs until the end of August. [Restrictions : No access Chinese mainland]
