This is the dramatic moment a boy with his head stuck between a glass door and its hinge was rescued in China.

The curious youngster had squeezed his head into the narrow gap of the entryway at Daoxian Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Yongzhou, Hunan.

His family immediately called for help from the Daoxian Fire and Rescue Brigade and hospital staff on August 23.

Footage shows his mother supporting his head with her hands outside the door while a worried crowd gathered, trying to figure out how to free him.

Moments later, the rescue team arrived and used a hydraulic spreader to create an opening in the metal frame of the glass doors, causing one of the panels to shatter in the process.

The boy was successfully freed unscathed and can be seen being carried by his mother to the emergency room for a medical checkup.
