A tractor-trailer carrying rescue workers overturned while heading to assist flood-stricken residents in India.

Footage shows the vehicle transporting State Disaster Response Force members in orange uniforms as they navigated an inundated road in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan.

Moments later, the trailer suddenly toppled over, forcing the personnel to disembark into the floodwaters. At least two of the rescuers were injured on August 23.

Authorities said on Monday that heavy rainfall over the past 48 hours has left 11 dead and two missing in Rajasthan.

Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur, said: 'The monsoon had been inactive for the past two weeks. With the trough line returning to its normal position, the monsoon became active again.

'A cyclonic system over the Madhya Pradesh–Rajasthan border remained stationary, leading to heavy rainfall in the southeastern parts of Rajasthan.'
