A stray dog was given shelter in a school and quickly made the classrooms its home.

A kindhearted teacher adopted Kahlong, the brown canine, and allowed it to stay inside the school building in Nakhon Sawan, Thailand.

The educator recalled that she took Kahlong in three years ago to shelter the dog from the sound of thunder.

She said: 'The dog was a well-known stray in the area and used to stay at a shop in front of the school, but when the shopkeeper caught COVID, Kahlong lost its safe spot and had nowhere to hide from the rain.

'I felt bad, and as a dog lover, I decided to move it to the school grounds. Since then, it follows me wherever I go.

'It loves being around people and is adored by the students.'

Footage shows the hefty pooch walking across the pink hallway toward the woman on August 19.

In another clip, the well-behaved animal can be seen sitting on the ground alongside pupils reading a book.

The school has taken responsibility for Kahlong's well-being by arranging vaccinations and maintaining cleanliness, ensuring safety for everyone on campus.
