DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — A Douglas County traffic deputy cited a driver after witnessing a red-light violation that nearly caused a crash, officials said.

The incident occurred near South Chambers Road and Double Angel Road, where Deputy Schramm saw the driver run a red light, putting others at risk.

The driver was cited for failure to obey a traffic control signal, a Class A traffic infraction.

“No one was hurt, but let’s not rely on luck next time,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement, reminding drivers to stay alert and cautious on the road.
