Storyline: Drones facilitate rice harvest in southwest China [Voice_over] The skies above the rice fields of southwest China's Chongqing Municipality are buzzing with drones lately. It's a new method for transporting heavy bags of rice from the region's narrow, sloping farms. Because large agricultural machinery can't navigate the winding and hilly terrain, previously bags of rice had to be moved manually in a laborious and time-consuming process. But today, the solution for farmers is drones. [Sound_bite] Qin Zubin, farmer: "Using drones to deliver our grain to our doorsteps is fast and convenient, and the cost is relatively low, at just over one cent per bag." [Voice_over] In recent years, the district has trained over 200 drone operators, and purchased more than 400 drones, saving farmers time and money. This drone can carry up to 85 kilograms in weight. China's low-altitude economy, which includes drones, is really taking off. This year it's expected to be valued at about 210 billion U.S. dollars. [Restrictions : No access Chinese mainland]
