Kasur, Pakistan - August 27, 2025 A massive flood wave of 245,000 cusecs has entered the Sutlej River at Kasur’s Nagar Emanpura point from India, wreaking havoc upstream and downstream. Dozens of villages have been cut off, with over 18,000 acres of farmland submerged and crops like rice, maize, and millet completely destroyed. Floodwaters have entered homes, roads, and even schools, forcing families to seek refuge on rooftops and higher grounds. The Army, Rangers, and Police are conducting rescue and relief operations, setting up medical camps and distributing ration among affected people. The Punjab government has called in the Pakistan Army to assist the civil administration, with aviation and other resources on standby for emergencies.
