Footage shows a local wearing a white tank top approaching the pair as they sat entwined on a bench at the Suzana Naspolini Park in Realengo, Rio de Janeiro.

The woman was seen sitting on the man's lap with her legs widely spread while they carried on with their intimate behaviour.

Children were visible nearby, some casually riding bikes through the crowded public space.

Local media reported that the pair ignored repeated requests from other parkgoers to quit their inappropriate conduct.

One mother said: 'I was with my kids. It's a park for the community, for children to play. It's not the place for that.'

Furious residents are now urgently calling on the Municipal Guard to increase patrols to prevent similar incidents from occurring again.
