Mandi Bahauddin, Pakistan - August 27, 2025 A massive high-level flood has struck the River Chenab at Qadirabad Barrage in Mandi Bahauddin, with 950,000 cusecs of water surging through the area. In a critical operation, the protective embankment was blown up with explosives to protect the barrage. The flood has submerged more than 35 villages, with homes in Noor Pur, Kala Shadian, Bahri, Kak Shal, Chak Abdullah, and other areas inundated. The Pakistan Army, Rescue 1122, and health teams are actively carrying out rescue and relief operations, moving hundreds of people to safer locations. Five flood camps and nine boat points have been set up as authorities stay on high alert.
